The tool for jailbreaking the smartphones on the platform Windows Phone 7 appeared on the net, reported the techblog IThinkDifferent. Using the program ChevronWP7, users will be able to crack their smartphones and install third-party applications on them. At present Windows applications can be downloaded only from the official store Marketplace. So far, the number of applications in the Marketplace is about 3,000. Windows application developers are not very happy with this news as now they have to think how to protect their apps.
The mobile platform Microsoft which followed Windows Mobile 6.5 was introduced in October 2010. At present only nine models of smartphones based on this operating system have been introduced on the market. They are sold in 30 countries of the world including Europe and North America. Mobile application development companies have already working hard creating apps for Windows and other mobile platforms.
The models based on WP7 were launched by NTC, LG, Samsung, and Dell. In Russia Windows Phone 7 smartphones are expected to be on sale only in spring 2011.
