Manual For Beginners in iOS Development

Apple has published the manual for beginner software developers for iPhone platform. Most popular gadgets iPhone, iPad and iPod work on this platform as the Apple Insider informs.

The manual, available on the official site of the company, provides the main tools for mobile developers, the operating principles of iOS and the online App Store. “This manual represents a starting position for iPhone application development”, – said the official representative of the company.

At first, the future developer is offered to download the set of tools Xcode and register in the iOS Developer Program. Then he can take a short training online course on creating the simplest application and get acquainted with the basics of the apps development.

In the next section, some types of applications, design, interface and the principles of the App Store operations are discussed. The online manual ends with the tips on finding further more detailed technical information and more advanced materials on iOS application development.
At present, iOS is the most popular mobile development platform. Last year Apple informed that there were more than 550,000 apps in the App Store, 170,000 were developed specially for iPad. The company gives to developers 70% of the profit from the sold apps. According to the latest data, since the launch of the App Store, the company has paid more than 4 mln dollars to third-party developers.

The main competitor of the iOS is the Android platform developed by Google. At the same time, the Android Market has two times more applications than the App Store.

BlackBerry is not dead!

The Vice President of RIM on interaction with mobile apps developers, Alec Saunders, decided to make use of the social event BlackBerry DevCon Europe in Amsterdam to debunk some myths of the situation in the company. According to his words, the number of daily downloads of applications for BlackBerry from the BlackBerry App World exceeds 6 mln, which is 30% more in comparison with the situation three months ago. Moreover, Alec Saunders denied the rumors that BlackBerry application development doesn’t bring enough profit and is unfavourable. According to one of the heads of a Canadian IT company, 13% of their developers have earned more than $100 000 on the developed products and in general BlackBerry App World brings 40% more profit than the Android Market. Alec Saunders thinks that the RIM strategy is complicated for understanding for some people but the new platform BlackBerry 10 should solve this problem.

Official Page for Android Developers Launched in Google+

Google launched the official page for mobile Android phone developers in the social network Google+, said the official representative of the company Rito Meier in the corporate blog.google-android-logo

The external Android developers will be able to exchange information on this webpage, show their products and be the first to know about updates, test them and ask questions directly to Google employees responsible for Android development.

Android developers will be able to participate in hangouts with the Google team and other mobile development specialists who are interested in the development of the platform. The company is going to hold such video meetings daily and broadcasting will be performed from the headquarters of Google in Mountains View (California).

Google is planning to put on its page video and photos from the official events for Android developers.

The social network Google+ was launched in June last year, following by Google+ Pages in November. Among other pages of the social network, users can find the pages of the Google company itself, Gmail, YouTube and Maps, the Google Chrome browser, Android platform, the special page for Google developers, and others.
